About La Vereda
La Vereda Compound, a peaceful and quiet residential community, is located in the heart of the historic East Side of Santa Fe New Mexico.

The Compound was completed in 1989, and combines new multi-level homes with older historic homes and apartments built on a hillside along East Palace Avenue. Its past uses include a brewery in the 19th century, and a dairy farm in the 20th. It is also near the site of a saloon reportedly favored by Adolph Bandelier, for whom Bandelier National Monument is named.

La Vereda is within easy walking distance of the Santa Fe Plaza and world-renowned Canyon Road. The Compound is graced by many tall trees that provide shade and beauty as well as several common area gardens and green spaces.

Nine of the thirty three units are stand-alone homes, while twenty are attached townhouses in groups of two, three or four. Four units are grouped in an historic two-story building, one of the first apartment houses in Santa Fe.

The newer units were designed by Ed Mazria, a local architect and champion of "green" architecture, and were built by Communico Inc. Several of these homes use passive solar systems for heating and cooling. All units include designated parking areas and outdoor spaces, and there is adequate guest parking.

La Vereda is managed by a Board of elected Directors composed of three homeowners, assisted by a Managing Agent. Working together with the Compound's residents, their purpose is to keep La Vereda a place of quiet enjoyment, a peaceful haven for owners and tenants alike.

The annual fees cover landscaping and maintenance of the common areas, while individual homeowners are responsible for the exterior maintenance of their own units. An Architectural Review Committee, composed of residents, review all proposed changes to the exterior of units.

The Annual Meeting is held each year in June at a location determined by the Board of Directors.
